Christina Aguilera hopes to release a double album

CHRISTINA AGUILERA is set to follow in the Red Hot Chili Peppers' footsteps by releasing a double album.

The sexy pop star has so many tracks written for her comeback Back To Basics CD she's hoping to release it as a double disc, according to her spokeswoman.

The album, which is due for release in August, features the singer paying tribute to smooth music from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.

Tracks include Save Me From Myself, a song Christina has dedicated to her new husband Jordan Bratman.
