Katie Holmes' parents now approve of Tom Cruise because of prenup?

Katie Holmes Parents Shift: Anxious for Her to Marry Tom Cruise By Lynda Johnson

Once the fabulous Katie Holmes announced her pregnancy, her very traditional Ohio parents Martin and Kathleen Holmes were reportedly unhappy. They were not pleased that she was unmarried and reports claimed they were not too pleased with Tom Cruise and his Scientology beliefs.

But now a report set for publication from Life & Style claims the parents have shifted and are anxious for their daughter to marry Cruise.

One reason is a prenuptial agreement that guarantees her up to $33 million according to the magazine report.
Before the prenup agreement was reached, mom Kathleen told the insider, “We were trying to get Katie out of the relationship.”
Not anymore. “Now the marriage needs to hap¬pen,” the weekly reports she told the insider.
Besides, it seems Tom has rededicated himself to Katie, the insider says. “If she walks now, Tom will fight her for custody of the baby, and Katie can’t outlast him in court,” the insider continues. “She knows she needs to marry him to get the money to fight him for custody, if it comes to that.”

The magazine also is reporting a few wedding details. The report claims that after postponing her wedding to Cruise initially, Katie has finally agreed to marry him this summer or fall.
And even though Katie's parents were not at the birth of their granddaughter - it appears they will be at the wedding.
They are very pleased for Katie to marry Tom so that she and Suri will be financially secure, the magazine reports.

Katie has her own money. Dawson's Creek has done very well in syndication and I'm sure that she's not exactly poor. If anything has changed their minds, it's probably something along the lines of Scientology threatening to destroy Katie's life if she doesn't marry him.

I hope her parents wouldn't encourage her to marry him, no matter what the reason.

I have a hard time taking this girl seriously after this whole Cruise sham. Why did she ever think it would be a good idea? I can see maybe some nobody wannabe actress doing this out of desperation for her career, but she had a good show and was established as a TV actress. I'm sure she could have gotten her own parts in movies. Was it for the money? No amount of money can make up for the royally fucked up mess this sham will make of her life.

This whole thing is tragic.

I doubt if they approve. They probably know that if they don't give lip service to the marriage then Tommy boy will put Katie and her pillow on a spaceship to Xenuland and they will never see them again.

That is just really sad. To marry someone just so you can get enough money to fight for custody when the inevitable divorce occurs. Whatever happened to marrying someone because you love them?

That's pretty much how I responded to this article. But this isn't really new...the prenup figures have been bouncing around for awhile...and at the end of the day, I'll bet anything that they don't marry but instead have an 'amicable parting', perhaps with the 'baby' passing away from unspecified illness. This way Tomthumb can look virile (hahahahaaha) and Katie can get away looking less insane (HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA).

Katie Holmes probably has a networth of $0.05. If they split, Tom is sure to sue for custody; Katie is sure to lose. She should given birth to Suri in Toledo, Ohio, a Lucas County judge would never let Tom Cruise get full custody.

If they get married, it will go the same way as his previous marriages. Can't be in the closet forever, Tom. Scientology can't cure anything. You're gay, you're gay. Accept yourself and be proud, damn it.
