Britney Spears allegedly signed preliminary divorce papers

Britney Spears has signed preliminary divorce papers, according to British reports.

The pregnant star allegedly signed the documents after consulting lawyers about splitting from husband Kevin Federline.

A source told Britain's News of the World newspaper: "It's a stressful time. Britney has already started seeing lawyers about splitting with Kevin. She is serious about it. She knows she has to get things moving."

Britney has been at the centre of months of speculation that her marriage is on the rocks.

Whether she started divorce proceedings or not, there will be a long wait for the divorce-as far as I know, you can't get divorced while you are pregnant. At least not in Mississippi...

I totally agree Lakesweetjane. I have no respect for Shitney Spears. And i agree--her career is DEAD. Dead & buried, never to be resurrected, IMO.

I was reading Rolling Stone the other day & it's this special Anniversary Issue edition where they have articles about alot of their most famous covers... Of course there were a couple of old covers from Britney's hey-day that were discussed--from back when she was "hot". And it got me thinking about how completely NON-HOT she is now, and how her ENTIRE career, her ENTIRE APPEAL, was based on how she was a really young, hot-looking, sexy but yet "virginal" gorgeous young chick. THAT was her appeal--it certainly wasn't about any sort of real talent. She canNOT sing--at all. So, without that fresh, young, "sexy-but-still-a-good-girl" appeal and hot looks, she does NOT HAVE any appeal. I do not see her now, as a divorced mother of 2 kids, making a comeback because her entire appeal is long GONE, and it was the type of appeal that she can now NEVER get back. She foolishly "dug her own grave" as far as her career & appeal goes. Over the past 2 years or so, she's exposed herself as a redneck, white-trash, unhygienic (walking barefoot into a gas-station bathroom? ewwww), no-pride (no cares about her public appearance no matter how dirty & gross she looks), uneducated ("I get to go to overseas places, like Canada!"), chain-smoking, not-very-nice (posting on her website a picture of herself giving the finger to her own fans!), class-less, slovenly person. I just don't see young guys ever looking at her as the hot, sexy, fresh chick that they fantasize about, anymore. Nor do i see young girls looking at her as the chick they want to be like, anymore. Her appeal is long-GONE.

My advice to Shitney at this point, would be that she should make sure to invest the money she now has, wisely.... Make sure she's got enough to live comfortably on for the rest of her life, and NOT count on continuing to rake in the cash like she used to back when she had a career. Too many of these pop-stars that were hot, think they'll ALWAYS be hot, and thus live like they're going to keep on making that kind of money, which is foolish. (Hello, bankrupt MC Hammer!) I don't see a comeback in the cards for Shitney, but i doubt she herself realizes that. I'm sure she's surrounded by "Yes-Men" who make her think she's still hot as ever, and that the world is still salivating at the prospect of new material from her. HAH!

Whaa?? This is actually legal? I can't believe it. How back-asswards is that?!?!? I would sue for my divorce if I were pregnant in the state of Mississippi!

It's no matter though. Britney was married in California, and California is with the times and allows a woman to divorce her man when she is pregnant.

I just read yesterday on Gossiplist that Kevin was her drug dealer and that she has been to rehab twice , anyone else ever hear this ?
