Musician Avril Lavigne has revealed she wants to quit singing to pursue an acting career.

BANG) - Avril Lavigne wants to ditch music for an acting career.
The star says she is bored of singing and is ready for a new challenge in her career.

Lavigne, who voices a possum in new animated movie 'Over The Hedge', said: "I've had a singing career for five years. I'm ready to try out new stuff and have some fun."
The 'Complicated' singer has revealed she is keen to star in a dark movie and would love a role that allowed her to show a range of different emotions.

She revealed to Britain's TV Hits magazine: "I like more serious roles. I can see myself in something like 'Girl Interrupted'. I would enjoy doing a film on the darker side, something serious with depth. I'm good at expressing myself and getting all my emotions out."

I saw her being interviewed on CBC Newsworld a couple years ago and she could barely string a sentance together.

She can scream like a retard, though. Hopefully it'll be a snuff film.

Hasn't she only put out like, one CD, and now she's "bored" with it?! Even when she wasn't acting, just doing interviews and stuff she was stiff as a board, what makes her think she can act?

A singing career is longer then 5 years. A singing career is Mariah Carey or Aerosmith or the Rolling Stones. People were over her Gwen Stefani inspired punk look anyway. Good luck with the acting!
