David Beckham Kidnapping Stunt
More in the news regarding David Beckham. When he was recently picked up to meet some sponsor, Dave had a sudden attack of suspicion. The car began driving aimlessly in circles. Now this isn't unusual, since drivers are on about the same compentency level as security guards. Beckham, however, thought that he was being kidnapped. He opened the door, jumped from his 'abductors', and fled out into on coming traffic. It was then that a team mate of his lept out of a following van, to re assure the skittish soccer hero. It was only a prank, set up for Brit TV.

While I am neutral on the DB, I don't think this kind of "prank" is funny - especially when there were real plots on his family. I think it was very poor taste to do this kind of thing.

Re: David Beckham Kidnapping Stunt
I blame Ashton Kutchner, and his "Punked" show, for this kind of over the line humour.
"Mischa, we just blew up your car.", "But my dog was in there".

Re: David Beckham Kidnapping Stunt
I agree, after having experienced real threats who can blame him for freaking out.

Re: David Beckham Kidnapping Stunt
Enough with the Punked crap. It's getting more and more malicious & less funny. The pranks are going way too far to try & out do the last. Soon, someone will get hurt. I don't live to see other people embarassed unless they are Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton or Britney Spears - then it's all fair game!

Oh, I'd love to see the BP one. What did they punk him with? I can only imagine.

Re: David Beckham Kidnapping Stunt
they didn't punk brad, he was in on it. he went to a busy movie theatre lineup, stood there, then a van drove by and "kidnapped" him. it was very...eh, the crowd's reaction wasn't as big as I think they expected though

Re: David Beckham Kidnapping Stunt
With World Cup soccer mania building up, you can't blame Beckham for taking this seriously. Some people will take their love of soccer to extremes. As for Pitt, I'm sure he was glad about the prospect of getting away from his cruel mistress, Angelina Jolie. Perhaps he saw it not so much as a kidnapping, as an intervention?
