Garner 'Steps Down' from 'Dallas' Casting
By WENN| Friday, June 02, 2006
HOLLYWOOD - Jennifer Garner reportedly turned down the role of Pamela Ewing in the forthcoming Dallas movie, after discovering her husband BenAffleck's ex-fiancee Jennifer Lopez had signed to star in the remake.
The Alias beauty started dating her Daredevil co-star in July 2004--seven months after the actor ended his high-profile engagement with J.Lo.
British newspaper the Daily Mail claims Garner was in talks to play Bobby Ewing's wife Pam, but backed out when she realized Lopez would be playing JR's alcoholic wife Sue-Ellen.
A source says, "Jennifer Garner was really keen to be in Dallas, but I think she felt there would be a bit of a strain between them on the set and that could have led to awkward situations.
"Both are totally professional, but there might have been a certain 'atmosphere' and Jennifer Garner didn't need to go there."

I have a feeling that this movie is going to be a stellar hit like the Dukes of Hazard movie. I just think that they should just leave some stuff alone.

w/e, she doesn't care about JLO; she doesn't wan't to be in the Dallas movie because it will bomb horribly and be made fun of by everyone. She's smart to keep herself away from that movie; now she will continue to have a career. JLO should take it since it will end her already dying career that much faster.

I wouldn't want to work w/my husbands ex fiancee either. Can't say that I blame her there.
She doesn't strike me as the Pamela Ewing type anyway....it's going to be a tough role to fill.

I don't thinks it was because of JLo either. She knew it wouldn't be good so she declined.

What a horrible situation that would be, wouldn't fancy it myself. I love Jennifer Garner . <- totally pointless statement there, but who cares.

I love Jennifer Garner too. I agree w/y'all--she knew it'd be awkward and I feel another Dukes Of Hazzard total bomb coming on with this movie. I mean, J-Lo as Sue Ellen?!?! Come on now.

I think casting JHo as Sue Ellen is a horrendous choice. I don't know who I see playing that role now, but Jennifer Lopez is SO wrong.

Exactly. I draw a complete blank when I try to think of someone to play Sue Ellen...

Maybe Kim Catrall? She kinda has the Sue Ellen vibe a little. I'm grasping at straws. No one seems to fit.

YES, good call Laurent. She'd fit much, MUCH better than Jello.

Kim Cattrall was the first person that came to mind as I read this thread too -- much better than JLo!

Pppfft! Whatever. Miss G. has busniess savvy, that's all. Why attach yourself to a stinker? Granted, JHo probably is the reason Miss G. turned down the role, but only cuz she knows that JHo = Box Office Bomb. It weren't jealousy, my brehtren!

Imagine Skeltor and Ben coming to visit their wives on the same movie set.
