Namibia Consider Naming Shiloh Day

Namibian politicians are seriously considering turning 27 May into a national holiday - to honour the birth of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter Shiloh Nouvel.

Actress Jolie gave birth to the baby at the Cottage Medi-Clinic Hospital in Swakopmund, Namibia on Saturday (27MAY06) and local ministers think the day should become one to celebrate in years to come.

Minister Leon Jooste, who has become friendly with Pitt and Jolie - and helped the couple keep the press and paparazzi at bay during their two-month stay in Namibia, is leading the charge to create Shiloh Day.
He says, "It's quite a process to get that done, but it is not impossible."

...blah, blah, blah all the attn to namibia & tourist dollars. great. it's wonderful that a developing nation would pull all its resources in a colossal act of graciousness. it shows they're lovely people. but seriously, it's like selling out your self respect to the power of the all mighty (insert currency).

Very silly, shocking and pathetic. I can understand Namibia is a poor nation and are happy that powerful couple brought attention to it, but to transcend the norms of "ass-kissing" and humilate their dignity, integrity of their country like that is very sad.

What is even sadder is this is serious, a governor who was interviewed said that 'national holiday' was not impossible and def. her birth will have a mark in their history!!!! WTF..
