Madame Tussauds has launched a campaign to save Britney Spears - from
husband Kevin Federline and her "relentless fertility".
The New York branch of the famous waxworks museums wants fans to throw their
weight behind the attempted intervention and get the wayward star back on
track.
The chain - which recently unveiled a likeness of the 'Toxic' singer -
declared: "We want to save Britney from herself, from her husband and from
her relentless fertility."
However, a spokesman for the entertainment venue in Times Square denied it
was an attack on the Louisiana native.
They insisted: "It's meant to be supportive. Her fans want her to make music
again."
Tussauds officials are also asking the singer to "bring back the happier
times when she was single, sexy and svelte"
Earlier this month, Britney apparently slammed husband Kevin in a poem on
her website.
The pop princess - who has been at the centre of months of rumours her
marriage is on the rocks - posted the emotional verse on her official
website.
The poem describes feeling tied down in "chains" and asks: "How do you stand
sleeping at night?"
The poem also talks about "the sins of the Father", and hints Britney - who
has a baby son, Sean Preston, with Kevin and is pregnant with their second
child - could be worried about bad behaviour being passed from father to
son.
Meanwhile , according to the New York Post, the 24-year-old pop tart has already curbed Federline's spending and laid down a curfew reports YAHOO MUSIC. Recently Britney was reportedly torn up when Kevin spent Mother's Day with his ex, Shar Jackson, and their two children. A source revealed, "Kevin's focus has been on everything but Britney. Instead, he has been putting all of his energy into his music career, which isn't going to go anywhere." The insider added, "Brit is definitely unhappy in this relationship and feels stuck."
