Default Elizabeth Taylor reportedly suffering from Alzheimer's disease

LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Elizabeth Taylor is reportedly suffering
    from Alzheimer's disease.

According to reports, the Oscar-winning legend - who has been suffering
from dementia for several months - has in fact been struck down by the
    degenerating illness.

A friend told America's National Enquirer magazine: "Elizabeth is now
being treated for early stages of Alzheimer's.

"At this point there is very little that can be done. She confided to
her specialists that she finds herself more and more confused."

The 74-year-old screen legend, who has survived a brain tumour and
several strokes, is alleged to often feel delusional because of the
condition which affects the memory of sufferers.

The source added: "Liz wakes up sometimes and really doesn't know where
    she is and she's scared."

    How sad.

Alzheimers is such a cruel disease to rob someone of not only their future, but also their past.

That is truly sad. The woman is an icon.

This isn't really the time, but...oh well-
I can see her really losing all her memory and Michael Jackson comes to visit. He leans down to hug/kiss Liz and she freaks the fuck out!!
She goes off on him for being a complete fucking freak. Talking about him really loud, like he isn't even there..."what is that that 'thing'? What happened to his nose? Is he black or white? Man or woman?"

That sucks - as bumpy as her life was, it certainly was amazing and colorful. All those guys (OK, not Larry Fortensky), clothes, makeup, movies, AIDS charity causes - that woman LIVED.

On the up side, if she really does has Alzheimer's she won't really know after a while. My father died of it six months ago, and he was ten years younger than Liz. Interesting fact though; his sister was Liz's body double in Cleopatra. Weird little world we live in

^^^Well, I'll be. Did she ever tell the family any anecdotes that you could share?

This is very sad if it's true. My aunt died from Alzheimers complications a couple of weeks ago after a long, slow and painful decline into, to be blunt, complete insanity.

However, Liz has been 'at death's door' so many times now from back, brain, heart problems (she was reported to be 'hours from death' from heart failure last month) I can't help feeling a little bit sceptical.

If this is in fact true, then it is so so sad. Alzheimers is horrible.
Mmm... Am I wrong, or did it just get fatter in here?

They just aired something on Liz on "Entertainment Tonight"/Saturday edition. Does that make this report "legit?"

They showed footage from a 2001(?) interview she did...she was a bit slurry. I remember all the hot rumors aobut how her painkiller addictions and boozing were affecting her speech and mobility, not to her mention health.

I love Liz, one of the most beautiful women to have ever lived in her prime. Just gorgeous.
