This sounds really stupid to me.
BEING BOB DYLAN!
Yep, you read that right...
CATE BLANCHETT is to play Bob Dylan in director TODD HAYNES' upcoming biopic 'I'M NOT THERE'.
The director has also cast Adrien Brody, Colin Farrell, Richard Gere, Julianne Moore and Charlotte Gainsbourg to play the legendary singer at different times of his career in a highly unconventional seven-handed biography.
Haynes is still looking for a final "Bob Dylan" to complete his casting and says he's seeking a young black woman to portray the musician's "inner-blackness".
It's the first time Bob Dylan has given approval to a film based on his life, although Martin Scorsese is also currently making a two-part TV documentary to screen this autumn.
A distribution deal for I'm Not There is due to be announced at the Cannes Film Festival this month and Haynes plans to start filming in the autumn.

I'm struggling to picture this.

You, sir, are an intellectual lightweight, a coward, and a chauvinist pig. Do I make myself clear?

It sound like it could be a magnificent movie - for the indie crowd at least. Iīm already anxious to see it.
WHAT THE..."inner blackness"? WTF
You take your party with you so lets roll.
Christian Bale is in it though. I love me some Christian Bale.
Wow that's a great cast and with Todd Haynes at the helm it should be interesting. He's one of my fave indie directors!
the Far From Heaven gets regular play and has one of the best director commentary tracks.
I'll probrably see this although I'm not a Dylan fan.
EXACTLY - if a movie's made about you, who's gonna be your "inner blackness"? What the hell..Originally Posted by SarahBear

The biographical film, I'm Not Here, highlighting the life of Bob Dillon is becoming a star-studded affair right before our very eyes!
On the cast so far: Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale, Julianne Moore, Richard Gere; and now Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams (who starred together in Brokeback Mountain).
Cate Blanchett will cross the gender lines to play Bob Dillon, Michelle Williams will play one of Dillon's love interests.

I love the fact that this movie will be shot partly in Montreal (my friend got a job on-set) and partly in Romania. Still freaking out that Christian Bale will be in my city!!!PARTAAAY!

Go Habs Go!!
I think the concept actually sounds pretty interesting. I don't even like Bob Dylan's music (I do like the lyrics), but I'd go see the movie.

It's really not cute to only do movies together, it's really more annoying. Get your own movie Michelle!
She's going to be so fucked when they break up.
. . . and isn't it spelled Dylan?
