MegaStar says: ‘What would John have said? Peace, love and take out Lindsay?

Lollipop-head lovely Lindsay Lohan has been getting death threats from John Lennon fans.

The Mean Girls star reportedly received some menacing messages after she signed to appear in a movie about Lennon’s killer, Mark David Chapman, played by a bulked-up Jared Leto.

Seems a strange reaction from fans of cuddly John who believed in peace, love and herbal remedies - maybe there’s a radical division to his fan base?

No matter, Lohan is quoted as saying she got clearance from his widow Yoko Ono, the guardian of all things Lennon, to star in Chapter 27: "I actually sat down with Yoko Ono a few times to talk to her about it.”

Rooney may not be going, but we'll be there!
“It's a very touchy subject, and nobody wanted me to do the movie," she told an Aussie paper.

At a news conference promoting her latest flick, Just My Luck, the 19-year-old star also revealed: “I did get death threats and everything. But I love my character in the movie, and she's just such a genuine fan of John Lennon and Yoko Ono in the film.”

Glad it was worth the worry.

Do you suppose, Linz, luv, that the issue may be the fact that your "lolipop-headed" self is the eye candy (oh spare me puh-LEASE!) in a flick about the LIFE of "he whose name shall henceforth never be spoken," which is, accordingly, by default a film about the DEATH of the late Dr. Winston O'Boogie?

I don't agree w/the whole 'death threat' (if thats what it really was) thing of course, but I think a pop quiz on Beatle/Lennon history certainly wouldn't be out of line imho.
