Geri Halliwell can't find a job

A source revealed: "Geri lined up meetings with TV execs - and she has had quite a few recently. She's been pitching her acting credentials and her presenting skills, but she would prefer the acting route.

"The response, however, has been lukewarm. Geri's gutted. She doesn't know what to do once the baby's born."

Despite taking lessons, Geri's acting career has been less than glittering. She's starred in Spice World of course, had a guest role in Sex And The City and appeared in Fat Slags - one of the biggest turkeys of 2004.

But a pal said: "Geri is still desperate to go into TV and the cash wouldn't go amiss - she's going to be a single mum."

She's going to be a single mom but she has a crapload of money from the Spice Girls. She made a lot of money back then and continues to make a lot of money today because those songs are still being played/used. So it's not like she's counting her pennies. She shouldn't worry right now about her career. She should only think about it months from now when she's had the baby and is ready for work.

Crystal, I was about to reply the exact same thing. It's hard to feel sorry for her. We haven't seen her do much since the Spice Girls days so I suspect she's sitting on a load of $$$$$. She should really consider herself fortunate to have the means to support a child and take the time to enjoy the experience rather than looking to her next big gig.

Well it's not as if she's actually qualified to do anything. Maybe she could teach yoga?? It seems to be the career of choice for washed up celebs.

STING IS NOT WASHED-UP!!!! He's just old now. Still hot, though.

Geri H. seemed like the most level-headed of the group. I hope she does well. But, yeah, she shouldn't be worried just yet. Good on her, though, for thinking about her kid's future and planning for it sooner than later.

I didn't mean to imply that Sting is washed up. I loved The Police. I think that you'd have to admit that his heyday has passed, though.

Whenever a celeb starts to talk yoga, then the show's usually over.

It's as if they went looking for light at the end of the tunnel, and got stuck.

Actually, I was done with him after Ten Summoner's Tales (or whatever it was called). That whole easy listening period was just a shame! He didn't win his way back into my favor until "Desert Rose" came out.

I'm still holding out hope that he'll return to his former greatness one day...

Well, I never considered Geri talented in the first place. I think she is lucky to have had the Spice Girls. She looks terrific pregnant though. I hope she takes time to enjoy her baby.

Absolutely, the solo work she brought out was cringeworthy. Whatever she decides to do, singing should not be it and any agent who suggests that should be shot.

Hate to admit it, but I actually liked the Spice Girls. Many years ago, I watched them on TV, and when it came time for Geri Halliwell to do her solo bit, I cringed. She could not carry a tune to save her life. She needs to give up on the singing.

She had the Spice Girls, she has at least one book out, and she's
had a solo career as a singer. What makes her think she should
just have movie roles handed to her?

Wait, wait, she was on "Sex and the City"? I must have been so underwhelmed that I didn't realize it was her. What episode?

I hate to confess this, I bought her CD, the one with "Look At Me" on it. It wasn't great but it wasn't dreadful either. Is her music really any worse than most of the crap out there (Twitney and her song about getting knocked up and a thousand other forgetable songs by a thousand other forgetable 'stars')?
