Richard Pryor's Daughter Claims Her Dad Was Mentally Abused
Daughter alleges Pryor's wife was "malicious"

May 11, 5:50PM ET) -- Richard Pryor's daughter Elizabeth is accusing the late comedian's wife, Jennifer Lee, of mentally abusing the late comedian.

In a petition filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Elizabeth is seeking removal of Jennifer as a trustee of Pryor's estate, citing "elder abuse."

Elizabeth claims Pryor, who suffered from multiple sclerosis, was isolated by Jennifer from his family and friends. Family visits were limited to once a month, 40 minutes max.

According to the petition, the alleged abuse caused Pryor "depression, despair, agitation, and other extreme mental suffering." The petition goes on-- "Given Mr. Pryor's utter dependence on Jennifer for his personal and financial welfare, her actions were reckless, oppressive, fraudulent and malicious."

Jennifer Lee and Richard Pryor were divorced in 1982, but remarried in June 2001.

For the love of God, it always amazes me when families fight over money when a loved one is gone. Make no mistake about it, that's what this is all about - not 'mental abuse'. GREED! My bet is his kids didn't bother to be around in all the years he was sick and now they're coming full force looking for their share of the dough. What better hook than to make Stepmom look bad. I don't know a lot about this couple, but anything I've ever seen or read of Jennifer showed a very compassionate person who cared for Richard to the very end.

I have to wonder why the kids didn't fight to get to see him more if they thought he was being abused. That would have been a better use of the courts. Seems they were willing to allow the abuse and only be able to see him once a month for 40 minutes. Now they want to fight so she can't control the estate.
