Pop singer Nick Lachey claims to be heartsick over his broken marriage to ol' what's-her-name. But that doesn't mean he's letting just any woman give him aid and comfort.
A Lowdown spy reports that 26-year-old former beauty queen Lizzie Arnold - Miss Kentucky USA 2002 - tried repeatedly to offer herself to the supposedly devastated Lachey during the recent Crown Royal Playboy party on the eve of the Kentucky Derby, leaving him suggestive voice-mail and text messages.
But apparently the 32-year-old almost-bachelor - who was spotted getting cozy with Arnold in L.A. in January, according to published reports - was just not that into her.
Arnold's manager, Dora Whitaker, yesterday disputed the Kentucky story, telling Lowdown: "Lizzie was with her dad the whole night, and she says it is absolutely false."
But the spy insisted: "Lizzie kept calling Nick from the Playboy party. Lizzie starts calling and texting him. She's leaving loud messages saying, 'I got my tits and my nose [newly] done for you!' ... I guess she was mad at Nick. She was like 'I am hot. Why won't you get with me?' But he wasn't responding."
Apparently Lachey was plumb tuckered out.
"He said he was going to bed because he had a 6 or 7 a.m. flight. He wasn't even drinking," the spy says. "He was with [New England Patriots quarterback] Tom Brady and [Indianapolis Colts quarterback] Peyton and [New York Giants quarterback] Eli Manning."
Lachey's flack didn't respond to detailed messages.
