Lindsay Lohan desperately wants to become the new face of Versace

Rumors have been swirling for weeks that Lindsay Lohan desperately wants to become the new face of Versace, after she lost the Chanel and Louis Vuitton campaigns to Keira Knightley and Naomi Campbell, respectively.

Since then, Lohan has been making nice with designer Donatella Versace, chatting her up at a Calvin Klein party last month and making plans to travel with the designer on her yacht. So was Lindsay’s desire to front the Versace campaign the inspiration behind the random stunt the actress pulled yesterday on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno?

Lohan was scheduled to appear on the show to promote her new film Just My Luck. But, in the middle of Leno’s monologue, she ran onstage barefoot, dressed in a robe and carrying two dresses — one blue and one red. “I’m getting dressed in the back and I wanted to ask your opinion on what I should wear,” she said to Leno.

The talk show host responded, “Let’s try the red. I like the red.”

“I’m very indecisive so I might change my mind again,” Lohan replied and then apologized to the audience. “Sorry guys! I didn’t mean to bother you! Go back to your show.” She scurried off.

Yet when Lohan came out to do her sit-down with Leno later on in the show, she was wearing the blue dress. “It was between Dolce [Gabbana] or Versace and Donatella Versace’s a friend of mine,” she announced. “I like the back — it’s very pretty.”

Uh, okay? Random stunt neither relevant to Lohan’s new movie nor funny (then again, it is Leno). So is it another attempt at plugging Versace to get on the fashion house’s good side? Or just a bit that fell flat? Discuss amongst yourselves.

For the record, we like Donatella Versace, too, even if she has a voice like an unfiltered cigarette and the coloring of a photo negative.

My daughter loves her. Of course there's no accounting for taste. I liked Madonna when I was her age and I managed to grow up relatively sane.

She also liked Mary Kate & Ashley and Britney, but says they're too weird and dress way to tacky now. She hasn't seen recent pics of Lindsey or heard any rumors about her. Thankfully my child thinks Paris is a skank so I don't have to ground her for life or pluck out her eyes.

She breaks my heart. I loved watching her on the Disney movies when she was young. My daughter and her friends thought the world of her. I had hoped she would grow up with grace and dignity and continue to set a good example. Instead she got caught up in the shit with her family and had no adult to guide her through the rough years. Her Mom preferred to party with her instead of parenting her. So sad.

There wasn't much hope for Lindsay from the beginning. She's white trash who got thrown into stardom when her mom probably slept with someone to make her baby a star. Lindsay keeps trying to pull off the "classy" image, but unfortunately it's just never going to work for her.

Former faces of Versace were older women.................Madonna, Halle Berry and Demi Moore..................but if rumour is correct and the younger market is being targeted next then Lohan might very well be 'in talks' as rumoured.

I wouldn't get a reputation for doing that sort of crap. Bob Hope used
to walk onto the Tonight show -- in the middle of the show -- and just
"drop in" on Johnny Carson, thereby throwing the show off and ruining
the other guests' promotional bit.

I almost feel bad for her..this can only end with her starving herself to death..or overdosing on coke...unless the ugly whore is willing to change.

Also... it seems like she claims to be "in talks" to be the new face of practically every designer today. I think she's either
a) delusional and really convinces herself that her fantasy of being a model is going to come true
b) sleeping with people who tell her "sure, sure.. .I'll make you the new face of ______!" but don't follow through since she has no way to enforce it
c) making shit up to get attention
