Katie Holmes' parents meet Suri Cruise for the first time

Martin Sr and Kathy Holmes missed the big event because they had to fly from her bedside in Los Angeles to Florida just a few days before the due date.

However, the couple have now flown in from their hometown of Toledo, Ohio, to spend time with Suri, their daughter and Tom - who has been busy on a whirlwind world tour promoting new movie, 'Mission: Impossible III.'

seems a lil fishy that her mom wouldn't want to be there for the "birth" of katie's...excuse me, kate's...first child!?!

Hmmmm, I thought I heard they had visited soon after the birth. It's obvious the relationship is strained if this is true.

I wonder if Tom's other children have meet this new "baby" I mean if Katie's parents just meet the "baby"... I sure this so called baby is just a sack of oranges on a bed or something. Next thing we see will be Katie walking around LA with a baby doll.

Ok.....that does seem like a while, but whateves. Maybe they were REALLY busy??? Already spending the money that Kate will be getting from the contract??

I'm sure I read an article posted here that said Katie's mother was present when the baby was born ... *scratches head*

I had read they were in Florida when she gave birth but this says they had to leave her side a few days before she gave birth? I had never heard they were even in LA with her. Wonder what was so important in Florida to cause them to up a leave right before she gave birth. Both of Tom's adopted children were born in Florida. Wonder if this one came from there too?

I would think her mother would want to be near for Kates first child.... makes me think she wasnt pregnant and she knew there would be nothing to worry about with the birth.... all very weird...

Ain't no damn way a first-time grandmother is going to let ANYTHING drag her away from the birth of her first grandchild. No damn way. So, if this story is true, then, yeah, somethin' ain't right.

But it was a bogus pregnancy, so I'm sure the story is bogus, too.
