    Veteran pop star LIONEL RICHIE has thanked adopted daughter NICOLE for boosting his career, insisting she's introduced his music to a new generation of fans.

    The DANCING ON THE CEILING singer admits his fame was waning before his daughter found TV stardom with PARIS HILTON on US reality show THE SIMPLE LIFE.

    Richie says, "I am known as Nicole's dad - a whole other generation has discovered me who wouldn't have done so, if it hadn't been for her".
