Victoria Beckham stunned shop staff by spending £60k on jewellery
Quote:
VICTORIA Beckham stunned shop staff by splashing out nearly £60,000 [$111,600] on jewellery.
Onlookers said Posh spent money “like it was nothing” in a spree lasting less than 30 minutes.
She called at the New York store of Jacob the Jeweller — the bling king of the hip-hop world — whose customers include big-spending rap stars.
Insiders said she came in looking for gifts for husband David, 31, and bought him an £8,000 stainless-steel Five Time Zone Automatic watch.
One said: “Then she started shopping for herself. That’s when the spending really started.”
Victoria, 32, forked out £43,000 on an 18-carat white diamond watch set in rose gold and another £8,000 on five-carat diamond hoops.
The insider added: “Most stars order things. But she just bought what pleased the eye, spending her money like it was nothing.”

I say good for her.

Well, she was born middle class but nothing like this kind of money. But what the hell, spend away..maybe it'll buy her a bit of happiness.

I'm usually not the kind of person to think or say that kind of thing, but I hope the Beckhams spend all their money and end up poor and middle aged with nobody wanting them anymore. That's what such a behaviour calls for.

Well, they'll definitely end up middle-aged---we all do---but I don't think poor.

Well, whatever he is, I don't think he is faithful, that's for sure. Maybe that is why she has so much cash to spend.

Re: Victoria Beckham stunned shop staff by spending £60k on jewellery
I think Victoria's family were quite well off. She talks about it in her autobiography. She was teased in school because her dad owned a Limo service I think, and used to drive her to school in one. Not sure what her mother did, but she's always been well off. Her financial state was improved even further with the Spice Girls, and before until well after her and David marrie, she was always the ones that was worth more, so she didn't marry him for his money - maybe it was the other way round!
Anyway, yeah £60,000 is a hell of a lot to spend on jewellery, but they don't need to save. I think the beckhams do do a fair bit of charity work but aren't creditted for it. About 6 months ago, they did lengthy hospital visits (and word is they also made a fairly substancial donation - far exceding £500,000) to the Special Care Baby Unit in Leeds Hospital in England. That was *not* for publicity, because they never got any. In fact barely anyone knows about that.
Anyway I'm going off the point. Yeah its a lot to spend, but they do good stuff too

HUGE sponsorship deals. I read a while ago that someone had said that the only reason they're still together is because of the sponsorship deals they have as the 'Beckhams', and that they're marriage is a sham. I think that was printed in the British Sunday newspaper 'News Of The World' and that's why they sued them.
I don't see what's wrong with her spending that much money on jewellery. I'm not exactly a huge fan of hers, but she's made the money, and she has the life to go with it, so let her spend it. The only reason it's been made such a big deal of is because she spent it all in one shop. I'm sure when people like Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton go out shopping, they spend up to that price on designer clothes/bags/shoes etc. So why is VB getting sh*t for it, but they don't? Seems to me that they're singling out one person for what loads of other celebrities do.

she is a self-serving shallow vapid idiot! I doubt she has a single thought about anything else but her appearances every second of every minute of every day of her life.
