    Default Mischa Barton's 'O.C.' death

Mischa Barton is being killed off in 'The O.C.'

The brunette star's troubled character, Marissa Cooper, is to reportedly exit the hit US teen drama after taking a drugs overdose.

A source revealed: "Mischa is definitely going. She hasn't been happy for a while and producers think its best she leaves. It is the perfect end to the current series."

News of Mischa's departure comes in the wake of reports suggesting she was trying to get fired from the show by pulling a host of sickies.

The 20-year-old actress allegedly had become worried about the show's spiralling ratings and concerned about being typecast as a teen brat.

According to reports, in the last few months Mischa has frequently called in sick or arrived late on set to the displeasure of her bosses.

This chick acts as if there's some big movie career waiting for her. She should learn from those that came before her (Shannon Doherty, DAvid Caruso, Shelly Long to name a few)

She's a notorious diva, so I'm guessing thier killing her off in order to be done with her antics. And yes, she should take a long look at the post-Beverly Hills career of Shannon Doherty...or what could more rightly be called a lack of a career.

I guess that was in the wind for a while. Some internet pole rated her co star Rachel Bilson, as one of the sexiest stars on TV, while Mischa didn't even make the list. As important PR, these 'sexy' poles are managed and manipulated by producers, agents, and the networks PR arm. So if a young actress gets difficult, she gets 'de sexed'. Alba slipped from 1 to 3, after she tookon Playboy. Scarlet Johanson was picked to replace her. Then the World's Sexists tile slipped around mroe than the boxing heavyweighjt championship, passing on to Kiera Knightly, before finding it'sw ay back into the more reliable hands of Angelina Jolie.

she should already know that...guess she hasn't looked in the mirror.
Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won't either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable.

I heard she is not going to be full time cast next season (which is official), but that she was going to be given guest status. This could mean that we either don't see her b/c they choose to focus on other characters at college or that she dies and we only see her in flashback...

Other than The OC, Mischa hasn't really had any notable work. I saw an article earlier this year in which she claimed to have "starred" in Notting Hill opposite Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts. I watched it and she played one of the child stars that Grant interviews. She was on screen for about 5 seconds, had 2 lines, and I don't know if she was even credited. Basically, she was an extra. I also wouldn't consider her a "star" of The Sixth Sense. That was a bigger role, but still not a starring one. I don't know where she gets the idea that she's some huge movie star and that doing work in television is beneath her. She's going to be in for a huge shock when she quits the OC and her career tanks. She's not a big enough star to headline a movie, and she's frankly not that talented. In addition to that, I've heard that she's a total bitch. Those qualities, along with the reputation she's earned of being difficult to work with, aren't going to get her anywhere.

The OC isn't really notable -however, she has no career without that show. She has no talent, she's never starred in anything and odds are, she never will. If she happens to sleep with someone with any clout & they put her in a movie, it'll bomb... because she is a wooden, no talent hack...

According to imdb she is currently filming "Closing the Ring" (something about WWII) , and has another film in post-production , Guilty Pleasures (co-starring Hayden Christensen(!?) ).
