Brooke Shields amused by having baby on same day as Tom Cruise

Actress Brooke Shields is amused by the fact she gave birth to daughter Grier the same day Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' daughter Suri was born, claiming "the irony is perfect."

The stars engaged in a public battle of words last year (05), after the Mission: Impossible star criticised the actress for taking anti-depressants after the birth of her first child Rowan.

She explains, "You know, the irony is perfect. The world works in an interesting way, but we (were) both pretty busy that day."

The 40-year-old gave birth to her second child with TV producer-husband Chris Henchy on 18 April (06), reportedly in the same Los Angeles hospital as Holmes.

She adds, "Yeah, rumour has it. Again, I was pretty distracted." When asked if she had any run-ins with Cruise at the hospital she says, "No. God, no."

The Suddenly Susan star chose to take the high road when discussing Cruise adding, "It's a gift having kids, you know, so it's a beautiful thing rather than anything else".

When asked if she had any run-ins with Cruise at the hospital she says, "No. God, no."

This answers the question. No run ins because Katie wasn't there that day thus no baby.

Brooke is very polite to not publicly out him for the fake baby... high road, indeed. Wonder if Tom's ever heard of the high road - probably thought he wouldn't be able to get there, him being a "peck" and all.

Hey, on another interesting (though somewhat unrelated) topic; Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryants wives also gave birth to two baby girls--on the same day--yesterday. Interesting non? They HATE each other.....
