Susan Sarandon receiving death threats

Outspoken Hollywood star SUSAN SARANDON is terrified and lonely after receiving a string of horrifying death threats. The actress, who has been a political activist for years, has been branded an '(OSAMA) BIN LADEN lover' by press and public alike after declaring her opposition to the war in Iraq. She has also slammed US President GEORGE W BUSH as irresponsible for using the 9/11 terror attacks to justify his Middle East conflict. And the reaction to her views has been so fierce at times, it has left the DEAD MAN WALKING star hurt and afraid. She says, "I don't think that I ever thought someone would ever really kill me, although there were some people who said 'I'd like someone to knock her off' on the radio and stuff like that. "And I don't think that I thought that I'd really never work again, but when there is nobody else, when you look out on the field and everybody is quiet and they're all looking away and nobody's saying anything, it's a really scary place to be." Sarandon is currently in negotiations to tell the real life story of CINDY SHEEHAN in a film about the mother's protest over her son's death in Iraq.

That's what kills me. These celebs use their star power to spout their opinions but they don't seem to realize that there will be consequences (good and bad). The fact that she can be surpised by this after Jane Fonda and the Dixie Chicks is amazing. Either she's an egomaniac who thinks she's above reproach or she's an idiot.

I love Susan Sarandon, though. Those idiots sending her death threats are probably candidates for a Darwin Award. Nature tends to take care of the fools eventually. Three cheers for Mother Nature!

When I don't like what people say, I politely respond with my POV, but I don't send death threats. They're using their First Amendment rights just like I am.

Also, I don't have a problem with celebrities saying what they want. If I had a national stage for my soapbox, I'd do it too.

Love her, think she's a great actress and generally cool, barring the fact she is with pretentious Tim Robbins. And I agree that isn't it great that you get death threats for speaking your mind in America. Wonderful.

She's a good actress but boy is she some kind of clueless idiot in so many ways. I don't know all the details but I know when she filmed part of "Dead Man Walking" in Louisiana she managed to alienate and piss off many people she ran across there.

i think she might is trying to say, that the filmindustry is turning their back on her and that everybody is scared of the consequences when associated with her, so everybody is looking away.

See, what I don't get about celebrities, regardless of their political beliefs, is why they spout off about them, thus alienating some of their fan base. I guess they obviously don't care, but I would rather WATCH an actor/actress than listen to their views on politics. That said, I think it is TERRIBLE that she is getting death threats, but I can't stand this ugly, bug eyed bitch.
