"They've offered it to me but it's just one of those logistical things." CATHERINE ZETA-JONES confirms she's in the running to play SUE ELLEN in a movie adaptation of hit 1980s soap series DALLAS.

Cool, she'll get to play the alcoholic Sue Ellen. Maybe they can "rewrite" everything and she gets drunk in the movie and gets smashed up in the first scene and stays in a coma for the rest of the movie

I read that and burst out laughing, I am all alone!! Can't stand her either! She seems so pretentious.

Ew. I hated Dallas when it was on tv; why would I want to watch it on the big screen?
*shudder*

Loved Dallas when it was on, and just hate this casting. Maybe she'll surprise me, but I am doubting it.
Who the hell is playing JR??

I loved Dallas. Loved it. But I can't believe there are executives out there some where who thought "who could play Sue Ellen Ewing? Oh, I know! Catherine Zeta-Jones!" Stupid, stupid, stupid.
I also have a feeling that whoever plays Lucy will be laughable.

As laughable as Charlene Tilton?? She was pretty bad...as much as I loved the show, she was horrible.

I don't think that they will because as hot as Jessica Simpson seems to think that she is write now, it's becoming very apparent that she's alienated most of her fans. Weak fan base + laughable acting skills aren't going to make her a very promising candidate.

"One of those logistical things?" Does that mean it'll cut into her two days a year when she's contractually obligated to see her family?

I say Britteny Spears!
I think that Zeta could do it. 1st she's gotta fake herself up a big ole Texas accent. One with plenty of "Y'all", and "Shug!", or "darlin'!", in it. I can imagine her down in Bel Air now, running "King of the Hill" CD's in the Douglas Mansion. Research to get the role right!

lmao on the visual image of CZJ watching old Hank Hill. As far as Jessica being cast in the role of Lucy, it would be a great thing if you know the character get's killed in the first scene as well.

She's going to be so wrong for this.
If you hated her in Ocean's Twelve, you'll despise her for Dallas,
especially if she tries to adopt the Texas Twang. "Howww-dy!"
(Although this could just be revenge for Americans going over
to Britain and faking British accents -- Gwyneth, Renee Z, etc.)
