Nick Lachey's new album IS about Jessica Simpson

Nick Lachey has revealed his new album is about his estranged wife Jessica Simpson.

The former '98 Degrees' frontman claims his solo album, 'What's Left Of Me', candidly deals with the pair's marriage breakdown.

However, Nick insists the record is not an attack on Jessica and is inspired by his love for her.

He confessed to America's People magazine: "It's not in any way vindictive or an assault on her. In a lot of ways, it's more of an assault on me."

Lachey, who says his biggest fear is being alone, recently admitted he has become guarded since separating from Jessica and "can't be as open with people because I've been burned."

Simpson, 25, filed for divorce last December after three years of marriage.

WORD. He's gonna fuck it up before it can ever become more than just a nice idea. What he needs to do now if he wants to stand a chance of getting her back (and for the record, I HATE this kind of bullshit game playing....either you wanna be with someone or you don't...but he and especially Jess will probably never be emotionally secure enough to have a normal healthy adult relationship, be it together or with others..and Jess is stupid enough that this might work) is STFU, back off and pretend like he's moving on now after having said some sweet stuff and boohooed.

I really don't think he needs to get her back. She's probably been infected with at least 20 different strains of Paris Hiltons (alledgedly) herpes virus.

As far as him whining about Jess, I like it. It give him the impression of being very sensitive, level headed, and open. While it just makes her look horribly. She cheated, she threw him away, she relied on her family too much, she spent too much money, she partied too much...I mean geez, he opens up, makes her look shitty, and probably sells a few records. My 10-year old has already announced that I will be one of the Original 43 people to buy his cd for her. She thinks he's a hottie.
