ET has confirmed that LEONARDO DiCAPRIO was flown from the Mozambique location of his latest movie to a nearby South African hospital to receive medical attention for a minor leg injury on Friday. The actor's rep told ET that Leo is okay and back at work.
According to a Johannesburg newspaper, Leo had been injured while filming 'The Blood Diamond,' in which he stars opposite Oscar® winner JENNIFER CONNOLLY. He arrived at the hospital in Nelspruit, near the Kruger National Park, to get X-ray scans. He consulted a doctor for about two hours and then left, most likely to fly back to Mozambique. The actor was reportedly accompanied by an entourage of bodyguards during his visit.
A former Portugese colony, the post-civil war Mozambique is one of the poorest in the world. Security has reportedly been tight around the location of 'Blood Diamond,' which finds various characters matching wits to obtain a priceless diamond amid the chaos of civil war.
