Angelina Jolie is buying her own country to help impoverished Africans.
The 'Tomb Raider' star, who is currently pregnant with boyfriend Brad Pitt's child, is buying Richard Branson's man-made version of Ethiopia, located in Dubai.
The British business tycoon is having 300 country-shaped luxury island developments built, to form a map of the world.
And the 55-year-old entrepreneur is selling parts of the 'world' to anyone rich enough to afford them.
The 30-year-old actress, who is due to give birth early in May, is reportedly planning to turn her new purchase into a fair-trade paradise for hundreds of Africans.
A source said: "Angelina has been obsessed with Ethiopia ever since she adopted her second child Zahara from there. Her friends are very jealous of her purchase."

Same here. I have a strange look on my face right now. Don't know if I would label it confused, bewildered, perplexed, or what...

"The World Islands are a collection of man-made islands shaped into the continents of the world, located off the coast of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. It will consist of 300 small private artificial islands divided into four categories - private homes, estate homes, dream resorts, and community islands. Each island will range from 250,000 to 900,000 square feet (23,226 to 83,613 square meters) in size, with 50 to 100 metres (164 to 328 feet) of water between each island. It will cover a total area of 9 kilometers (5.4 miles) in length and 6 kilometers (3.6 miles) in width, surrounded by an oval shaped breakwater. The only means of transportation between the islands will be by marine or air transport.
The World Islands will be located 4 kilometers off the shore of Jumeirah, close to the Palm Jumeirah, between Burj Al Arab and Port Rashid at approximately 25°13 North and 55°10 East. Each island will be sold to selected private developers and are expected to have pricing beginning at AED 25 million (US$ 6.85 million), for the AED 6.6 billion (US$ 1.8 billion) project. Individuals who have purchased islands in the World Islands include Sir Richard Branson (Great Britain)."
**who is going to want to buy the not so great places.like Antarctica and Siberia?? lol**
http://www.theworld.ae/ On this link you can navigate to the map and see the islands..there is an Ohio island, an Ontario island, a Los Angeles island..a Victoria island..etc.

WTF does that mean? If she's trying to help Africans, that is probably as inefficient and wasteful as it gets - buying what's essentially a luxury resort. She could probably save the lives of thousands (eg. leprosy treatment, vaccinations, etc) with the money she's spending there to help a few hundred.

WTF? I hope global warming makes these islands disappear under water! Can't the huge egos leave the planet as it is? Aren't there enough already existent places where actions are needed?

I never even thought of that..it kind of does look like a great big target doesn't it...being only about six miles by four miles it would only take one nuke to "blow up The World"..

That's why i add the quote sign, however, i don't know where UAE is positioned. Sometimes it's third world and other time in second world. I don't even know based on what the countries are categorised
Well any part of the world is a target, but the question is why would it be a target?
