Britney Spears Terrified She Could Lose Sean Preston, Blames K-Fed
By Jill Atkins
Apr 21, 2006
Former pop star Britney Spears is reportedly terrified that she could lose her son to California authorities. “She’s paranoid that another accident will happen and the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) will take Sean,” says a family insider.
The report comes from this week's Life & Style and claims that Britney blames husband Kevin Federline for Sean's' fall that wound up cracking the baby's skull.
***
Despite the high-chair fall claim that was released last week, the magazine reports that they have heard from multiple insiders and they have told Life & Style that that based on the accounts of Spears family members and Kevin himself, they claim — Sean may have injured himself after rolling off a couch in the same room where Kevin and his friends were at the time.
“When Britney came to the door, she heard a thump and then Sean Preston screaming,” says one insider. Brit immediately blamed Kevin, telling him, “You’ve been nothing but trouble for me ever since I met you.”
(Brit and Kevin’s rep did not respond to a request for comment.)
***
The reports claims that Britney is now worried as another incident would be trouble.
Life & Style speculates that Britney’s presence on the DCFS radar (after she was caught and photographed driving with Sean in her lap on Feb. 6) could lead to serious consequences in the event of another incident involving Sean.
“If DCFS finds that the child was subjected to abuse or neglect, it could take him away, leave him with the parents pending trial or let the parents retain custody as long as they agree to take a parenting class or get counseling,” Arthur LaCilento, an LA lawyer not involved in Brit’s case tells the magazine.

I don't believe that to be honest. The whole world is so ready to label Britney as a bad mother. Marrying K-Fed didn't really help her on that count though.

What the hell is a parenting class gonna do? Teach you how to change nappies and to hold the child? No class can teach you how to be a parent, you either got it or you don't.

I tend to agree. At this point, the press are a bunch of vultures wanting to create their own image of Brit.
Having said that, I do think that a child who is in a home with drug use is an unfit home. Having a child fall once is sort of understandable but if it's actually a habit for them, they should be scrutinized by DFS.

They should make it a law that you have to take care of a rubber baby for a year before you can have your own offspring.

Doesn't she/they know if you have the baby up on something high you STAY WITH THEM for fuck's sake. What next, are they going to leave him alone in the bath?

I wonder if it's true that she plans to sue the company who made the high chair Sean Preston fell from the first time.
The funny thing is, I remember Britney saying when she was pregnant with him or first had him that she'd rather give up her career than put him in the care of nannies, and that she wanted to be a good mother and be there all the time for him. In the reports about the kid falling from the chair, he was under the care of a nanny and that Britney and Kevin had nothing to do with the fall. Hmm.

If this is true, it's sad that Brit is more concerned about getting in "trouble" than about her baby actually being injured.

Why can't she just invest in one of those little 'pumpkin seat' chairs that they strap into? My baby has one, and she's only about 4 inches from the floor when she's in it, so even in a catastrophic accident she'd only drop 4 inches onto the carpet.
You'd think with all her cash she'd have at least peeked into the baby section of a store and seen these things.
