Quote:
Mandy Moore asked her parents to leave her home after deciding that they out-stayed their welcome.
The actress allowed her family to move in with her after purchasing a property in Los Angeles three years ago.
"My parents moved in with me, I'm very close with my family, but the time came about a year ago to actually kick my parents out - because it's my house!" she told WENN.
"So I had to have the awkward talk with them like, 'I think it's about time you guys moved back to Florida,' which is where I grew up. Not only did they lose me, they lost my younger brother who was going to live with me as well, and stay in the house.
"They became homeless and empty-nesters at the same time."

Geez, I know some people want to be close to their parents, but c'mon! She should have just bought them a house down the street.

Sounds kind of cold. She could have helped them find a place to live.

I agree with hello ^^^ if this is true, she's an idiot. I usually throw out unwanted or unlikable guests in about the same time as it takes to throw out fish (as the old saying goes), which is 3 days - but 3 YEARS?
Plus, she sounds like she's bragging, as if it's a badge of honor or gives her street cred to toss her 'rents out onto the street.
I lived with my parents for 3 months once. They didn't kick me out, but they did help me find a house...right up the street. It's working out beautifully. LOL

"yeah, well, they were bugging me, ya know?' ' they, like, kept asking me, like for money for like food and stuff!? So I said, "Hey, get your totally lazy asses out on like the street like I did and like get jobs!' ' Geez, I can't be supporting them forever!' ' Three years - that's it. I am so done with them!"
"Yay, I am soooooo cool and on top of my career and life and I have a super cool boyfriend and I'm cute! Yay Me!!!" My parents are homeless, yippee!!!!
"Omigod, like what am I going to wear to Koi tonight....???"

It may be cold, but I say good for her. I wouldn't expect my parents to give me free food and lodging when I have my own means of support, so why should a parent expect that of their child?

I get the impression that when they first moved in it was probably more because she wanted them there. Three years ago she'd have been around 18/19 and probably wanted her mommy & daddy with her.
Now she's 22 and wants her freedom, which is understandable I guess, but it comes across as cold hearted and bratty.

If Princess Mandy couldn't hack living independently and asked Mom and Dad to live with her it's their own damn fault for agreeing. Once your kids leave home THAT'S IT. See ya! Buhbye.

She's talking about it rather casually. I don't think she meant to say it the way it sounds. If she did, sweet Mandy isn't so sweet. If I were her I wouldn't want my parents living with me either but unless they were total fuck ups, I wouldn't talk about them like that.

I heard her make this quote so it is true. She sounded kind of apologetic when saying it, but didn't retract it. Yes, she wanted them to live with her originally, so it's not like they asked.

But nobody forced them either. They shoulda stayed in their nice Florida condo and let Madam grow up and fend for herself. Cut the cord!!!
