Ewan McGregor adopts little girl

In 2004, MCGregor and best friend CHARLEY BOORMAN spent three months on a globe-spanning 32,000 kilometre (20,000 mile) motorcycle trip for TV series LONG WAY ROUND.

Mongolia was one of the stops featured during their journey.

Actually Clara is 10 and Esther is 4. Good for Ewan and his family! I love him.

So, is this child a Mongoloid or a Mongolian? Just curious - well that and I haven't quite met my quota for offending people today!

For clarification: Mongoloid - Of or being a major human racial classification traditionally distinguished by physical characteristics such as yellowish-brown skin pigmentation, straight black hair, dark eyes with pronounced epicanthic folds, and prominent cheekbones and including peoples indigenous to central and eastern Asia.

Well, it is the 'in thing to do'...remember Ashton Kuthcer thread?

That was a joke, but I don't understand why people think it is so amazing that these celebs are adopting kids. Ordinary people have been doing it for a loooong time. They never get the accolades that the celebs get when they choose to adopt. I think adoption is a great thing, but the way it is played up when a celeb does it makes me ill. Great for the kid-don't get me wrong, but there isn't anything special about it just because they are famous.
