Eminem's wife Kim Mathers shocked by divorce

Eminem's estranged wife says she was shocked when her rapper husband filed for divorce.

Kim Mathers - who tied the knot with the 'Slim Shady' star for the second time in January - was confused by his decision and says she still loves him and wants to sort things out.

In an interview with a US radio station, the 31-year-old - who hasn't spoken to her husband in six weeks - said: ""I don't really necessarily want to get divorced. I was hoping he was going to come home and say, `I got us a marriage counsellor, let's go.' But you know it didn't work out that way. I got an attorney at the door instead."

The couple's first marriage lasted two years, ending in 2001. Their latest attempt at marital bliss only held out for 83 days. Kim blames their problems on an ongoing fight against an addiction to sleeping pills - for which Eminem received treatment for last year.

However, in a statement released on Thursday (06.04.06), the rapper said: "A few of Kim's statements in a radio interview need to be addressed.

"First, her allegations regarding my status post-rehab are both untrue and unfortunate. Second, she was aware that I was filing for divorce.

"We both tried to give our marriage another chance and quickly realized that a wedding doesn't fix the underlying problems."

Well, neither of them have ever struck me as terribly bright or stable....so can't say that I was shocked to hear this...

^^Yea, but it's too bad for the 3 kids involved....he took custody of his neice and that whore wifes other kid from another guy. I think that says a lot about him. Or maybe he's just so freaking drugged up that he doesn't even know.

I dont know what their problem is but they are obsessed with each other from time to time and cant stand to be around each other no longer than a day. One of the fucked up couples who enjoy each others misery.

Well, they should just be fuck buddies and leave the kids out of the whole thing. Since they do seem to have some odd attraction/obsession they can have their time together and when their hunger is satisfied, go on home...
If he wants to see the kids, let him pick them up and spend time with them without her. Happens everyday...

ETA: She said in the interview that Hailie heard about the divorce on the radio. If he hasn't been home in 6 weeks what exactly was Kim telling her where her father was?

To me, she sounds ummmmmmmmmmmm....sober? I listened to this and she didn't sound like she was loaded. She's no Rhodes Scholar or anything, but she sounds like she's clean. I'm kind of in shock because I always thought that she was just a total mess from the stuff I've read...

Nah, I really cannot picture either of them with anyone else. They've got some connection, total love/hate thing going on. Such a bizarre couple.

I bet she was shocked. She thought the dysfunctional relationship was going to last forever or be just as chaotic as it was the first time around--maybe it's a sign that he's finally had it with her. *crossing fingers*
