Reportedly, Mischa Barton wants to leave "The O.C." The actress/model, who plays a spoiled, pampered pretty girl on the hit FOX show about teens living in posh Orange County, feels she’s outgrown the show.



Insiders on the set say the “Marissa” actress is pulling out all the stops by creating instances that have her showing up late if at all.



According to a report in Life and Style magazine, the British actress is worried about the show's spiraling ratings - and doesn’t want to be typecast as a prissy teen.



"She's definitely flirting with leaving the show," says one source. "But the real problem now is that she isn't taking work seriously."



Once a must see on Thursday nights, the California drama has slipped in the ratings.
According to Nielsen, "The O.C." has seen its ratings drop from nearly 10 million viewers its first season to around 5.4 million this season.

She's British by birth only. From what I understand, she was born there but raised in the US (moved to New York as a baby). She recently starting telling everyone that she considers herself British. I guess it's kind of that pretentious Gwyneth Paltrow mentality of "Being British is Klassie!"
