Hollywood couple JOHN TRAVOLTA and KELLY PRESTON have raced to fellow Scientologist TOM CRUISE's support as he and fiancee KATIE HOLMES plan a controversial silent birth in the coming days.
The heavily pregnant actress plans to adhere to strict Scientology rules and give birth without screaming obscenities or making loud noises.
But the Travoltas insist the birthing procedure, which has been mocked in the press over the past few months, isn't like people think.
The PULP FICTION star says, "There are unwanted emotions and pain that goes along with any birth."
Preston insists the Scientology-friendly labour doesn't forbid the mum-to-be from yelling out in pain: "Screaming is fine... It's the words. If you can avoid saying certain phrases and words... Just try to keep it as quiet as possible.
"Of course you're going to groan and yell. It hurts. Just keep it to a minimum."

I wonder what exactly these phrases and words are. And I hope Katie swears like she has Tourette's syndrome during birth.

How can you keep your reaction to pain to a minimum? I can see it now, "Katie saying "Oh deary me, that's a little uncomfortable. Oh dear"

I can't see how in the middle of all the pain you would remember to not say "those words and phrases"... good luck to Katie

I have only had one child, but I'll tell you, for all the blinding pain I was in.. I didn't yell, or scream or swear. I barely made a sound. I think I was in too much shock, really.
Not every woman in labour screams, yells or swears.

I screamed and swore and generally abused everyone in sight during one and during the other, was fairly calm. But I reserve the right to say whatever and do whatever I want while giving birth. If Katie gets back labor, she'll be cursing like a longshoreman.

Well of course their fellow scientologists will be there with placards that remind Katie what to say....this is the dumbest shit I have ever heard. Not that I think the twit is even pregnant, but to expect any woman to control what is said and done during childbirth is ridiculous! And what happens if she slips up and lets 'the wrong words or phrases out'? So she says the wrong thing and 5 years later little junior starts having problems....it is all blamed on Katie and her inability to have silently birthed the poor thing....

Avoid certain phrases and words? WTF?
I can not STAND Scientologists! Can NOT!
Have I ever mentioned I picked up a "Dianetics" book at a yard sale for the hell of it? I was flipping through it and the FIRST thing I read was that if a pregnant woman has an orgasm, she is trying to kill her baby. I threw that fucker in the trash.
When is everyone going to finally get it about this Scientology bullshit? (Board members excluded, of course!)

Me as well. Probably between the 2 of us, we made UP some new obscene words and gestures!

Even though this is stupid, I believe it can be done. I was pretty quiet when I had my son.
