Melissa Joan Hart feels sad for Britney Spears

If there were a group in which famous chicas with brand-new babies are paired with other starry moms to help each other out with installing the car seat, losing the bulge and all that, I would suggest pairing Melissa Joan Hart and Britney Spears.

It all started when I asked Melissa recently if she's a gossip girl.

"This whole Britney and the baby thing really kind of concerns me," she said, eyes popping. "If she's not pregnant, I'm so sad for her, being on the cover of every magazine, where they're saying she's fat enough to be pregnant. That's breaking my heart."

Oh, mine, too!

I, of course, gave M.-doll the update on Britney's recent boozy nights with birthday-boy hub Kevin Federline, leading one to the obvious (but only politically correct) assumptions.

"Oh, well, you know, she was so young when she started," M.J.H. said. "She hit it so hard and so big. I used to be friends with her when she first hit, and I was like, 'Slow down, girl or you're gonna burn out.' So now, she's probably just enjoying having a normal life and not hitting the gym every day."

Well I certainly hope so. But still, a little bounce on the treadmill wouldn't hurt, doncha think?
