Richie Sambora and Heather Locklear stay friends amid divorce battle

RICHIE SAMBORA's divorce battle with HEATHER LOCKLEAR has taken a turn for the better after the couple were spotted kissing and caressing each other at their daughter's softball game.
The couple are facing a bitter custody battle for eight-year-old AVA ELIZABETH, but it appears they might reunite before the divorce trial hits the courtroom if a show of affection at the weekend is anything to go by.
Sambora, wearing a sling on his broken left arm, was spotted tenderly kissing his estranged wife, while Locklear giggled and chatted with her ex, at one point touching the rocker's backside.
The signs suggested things aren't quite as bad as they seem - Sambora filed papers in Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this month (MAR06), seeking joint custody of his daughter.
He is also seeking to enforce their premarital agreement, signed the day before he wed the actress in 1994. Both stars cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.
Meanwhile, Locklear's publicist insists people are reading too much into the couple's weekend meeting - and the divorce is still on: "They both went to their daughter's softball game. Ava is the priority for both of them. That's it."
You know, it IS possible for a couple to divorce and still remain on speaking terms? Maybe not in Hollywood, but I know several people who are on the best of terms with their ex's because it's the grown up way to behave and the kids benefit.

It's just the general assumption that Hollywood divorces are nasty, vindictive and unpleasant (which most of them are - blame the lawyers!). It's very refreshing to hear about a couple who decide to divorce, for whatever reason, yet still remain on good terms. I can think of other examples, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore for one.
