Patti LaBelle broke down during show

Soul star PATTI LABELLE broke down on stage in Florida on Saturday (25MAR06) after her ill health became too much to cope with.

The 61-year-old singer was performing as part of the Riviera Beach Jazz and Blues Festival in Riviera Beach and claimed the mild temperature of 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees Celsius) was 'too cold' for her.

At one point during the gig, LaBelle sat down on stage and started crying.
She explained she was suffering from a heart murmur and had diabetes and urged fans to forgive her poor performance.

Apologising, LaBelle said, "I've never been this embarrassed in my life. This sucks. It's the worst show I've ever done in my life. I've never ever given you less than I can give. I'm gonna give you everything you deserve."

LaBelle struggled through LADY MARMALADE and ON MY OWN before leaving the stage.
