CSI star Gary Dourdan sues ex-girlfriend

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation star Gary Dourdan is fighting back after an ex-lover accused him of rape and battery - he has filed a $4 million lawsuit accusing her of slander and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

The actor, who plays Warrick Brown on the hit forensics drama, entered a no contest plea after being charged with a misdemeanor battery count last year. He was never charged with rape.

He was sentenced to attend domestic violence counseling and to stay away from former girlfriend Anne Greene.

Now angry Dourdan is out for revenge, claiming in a new lawsuit that he's the victim of a "fatal attraction" stalker, who called him up to 30 times a day, left threatening messages and slept in her car outside his home.

In the new lawsuit, filed under Dourdan's real name, Gary Durdin, the actor claims Greene set out on "an obsessive crusade" to destroy his "reputation and peace of mind".

The case will be heard in Los Angeles Superior Court in September.

I don't want to make light of serious charges of rape or anything, but I do think there are those out there who see an opportunity in making such charges knowing they're lying. I'm glad to see a guy stick up for himself and risk his reputation going to court over the accusations. Many just leave it alone hoping everything will die down and their reputations are ruined forever because people will always assume he's guilty. I'm really sick and tired of these opportunists crying "foul" when there are real victims out there.
