Double Oscar winner JODIE FOSTER pities young actors today because they are "eaten up" by the media before they have a chance to prove themselves.
The 43-year-old SILENCE OF THE LAMBS star, who began acting at the age of three, insists young stars are burned out by fame and high expectations before they even hit the big time.
She says of her generation, "You were able to build a body of work, so that by the time you turned 25 or 26 you actually had done something; you weren't just eaten up by the system."
