Sarandon shocked by Zellweger press coverage
Quote:
SARANDON SHOCKED BY ZELLWEGER/CHESNEY PRESS COVERAGE .
Film veteran SUSAN SARANDON was horrified by the amount of press attention devoted to the short-lived marriage of RENEE ZELLWEGER and KENNY CHESNEY, while millions of people are suffering in Sudan. .
The DEAD MAN WALKING star is disgusted by the frivolous content of magazines, at the expense of stories of the tens of thousands of people killed in the troubled Darfur region of the African nation. .
Government forces and Arab militia have been fighting ethnic minority rebels since 2003, leaving towns destroyed, families ripped apart and many dead. .
Sarandon says, "It really blows my mind how the media is using language these days. .
"When Renee Zellweger married Kenny Chesney after only knowing him briefly, I couldn't believe how many people said they were 'stunned' she would do something that impulsive. .
"Stunned! I'll tell you what I find stunning: how many thousands, if not millions, of people are dying in Darfur and there's barely any press coverage of that carnage. Now that's stunning."

It's time to shutup Susan.
There's a reason why they're called entertainment magazines, and not state of the world magazines.

^ Exactly. If you don't wanna see entertainment-related press coverage, don't read it.
There's plenty of news about world events in Time, Newsweek and Life. Maybe if she stopped scanning OK!, Star and People she wouldn't have to feel so "shocked."

I'm a little shocked too.
I'm shocked at how much praise people give Susan Sarandon
even though she's resorted to nudity/toplessness to boost
her career at every conceivable opportunity.
I can think of Rocky Horror, The Hunger, Pretty Baby (she did
a long conversation topless in a parlor that went on for over a minute),
Atlantic City and Bull Durham (a nip slip). And yet she's a serious
actress...what gives?
In fact, if you ever want to go through a catalogue of nude
scenes by anyone halfway famous, check out the
CELEBRITY MOVIE ARCHIVE:
http://www.celebritymoviearchive.com/tour/name.php/425 (NSFW)
Look for the column "Nudity?" and if there's a YES in bold
yellow letters, you've found something beyond PG.
Sarandon has 11 nude scenes in 7 different movies,
most of which date back to the 1980s. (3 links are NSFW).
Keep talking about Bangladesh, Susan. It's gotten you
a lot of credit with the snooty types....

^ Exactly. While Susan's heart might be in the right place, she's always been a bit too pseudo-intellectual to not occasionally sneer at.

did she know that those shitty movies she makes creates pollutants that last for thousands of years that are dumped into the ocean?
did she know that to make one DVD, it takes about 1-3 trees cut down, usually from the brazilian rainforest?
did she know that 1 hours worth of money spent in production, filming and post production, could fund 10 schools, or 1 ambulance in a third world country? or sponsor over a 1000 kids?
bint.

Why would making DVD's result in the destruction of the Brazillian rainforest?

energy essentially. U2 and Coldplay buy and protect acres of brazilian rain forest, because when they make their CDs they destroy them.
