Flacks outraged at Natalie Portman bump from Vanity Fair cover.

This is exactly what bothers me so much about Teri Hatcher's molestation revelation -- can't you just picture her "people" coaxing it out of her "Teri -- they've got you or Natalie -- one of you is going to get the cover. You gotta tell them something big, something explosive and very personal if you want the cover."

Not that I don't feel for Teri, it is a horrible thing, but this all reeks to me. For months and months she's been blathering about sex, her stripper work outs, etc. and now it's time for her deep, dark confession profile. Does VF make people spill in order to get the cover? Look at Lindsay Lohan -- the bullimia, drug use, etc. It got her the cover and sold them tons of copies. I don't think I like VF anymore.

I like VF. They aren't exactly hiding what they're about. I mean, even if you ignore the novel 'Vanity Fair' and what it was about, the title is pretty self-explanatory.

I love how Hatcher's confession didn't happen four years ago when it might have prevented the teen's suicide. Instead, she waits until her career is going great guns to tell all. I don't doubt her story, but the timing reeks of self-promotion and insincerity.

I like the portman shots; expecially the one of her as Cleopatra-esque and I liked reading how she doesn't wear diamonds!

* I agree w/ you Pacific Breeze; if I were her; i'd feel tremendous guilt for putting my career first over a victim of a predator I knew about.

and Natalie needs to sit down...Just be content that you were even offered a cover on Vanity Fair.

Side note- Natile should mos definatly grow out her hair! Save the short pixie look for Sieanna Miller
