Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes expecting baby boy

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are expecting a baby boy, it has been reported.

The former 'Dawson's Creek' beauty sparked rumours of the baby's sex during a shopping trip when she bought stacks of blue baby clothes.

A source is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "Katie didn't even look at any of the clothes or toys for girls"

The beautiful brunette shopped for boys baby clothes in top Los Angeles department store Neiman Marcus and exclusive boutique Le Petit Bateau. The source added: "Katie bought lots of outfits

"She was walking around the shops with her arms full of baby stuff"

Katie is expecting her first child with Tom in three months and the couple are planning to wed next October. The parents-to-be are currently in China where Tom is filming new movie 'Mission Impossible III'.

Wait, that article implies that Katie's only 6 months pregnant. WTF? She looks much farther along than someone who's only 6 months (this coming from someone who just had a baby not that long ago). That would mean that they announced she was pregnant when just a few weeks into it. I'm completely convinced she's had a pillow/strap-on belly to confuse the media about the due date.

I've read elsewhere that she is due in April. Certainly doesn't lend a lot of credibility to this article when they can't even get the due date right.

I was thinking the same thing. Six months pregnant and big as a house? When was the pregnancy first announced. Most people don't publicly reveal a pregnancy until after the third month, when you're less likely to mis-carry, and there is no way in hell the world has only known about this baby for three months. That's it. It's a pillow. And obviously the first surrogate mother pulled out so now they have to wait for their next victim, erm, chosen mother to deliver. This just gets weirder and weirder.

I've read that she is due in May.

Of course, she's not going to announce a definite date and have everybody counting on their fingers and yelling - Ha! I knew it was the previous boyfriend's kid!!!

If this really was Cruise's baby, the due date wouldn't be such a big friggin' secret.

OK, if this REALLY is a real pregnancy. I believe Katie got pregnant way before, and could possibly already have given birth, and NOW she's wearing the fake tummy, which could be leading to the varying sizes and general wackiness.

Why? because Tom's baby's birth really really really really needs to coincide with the premiere of mission impossible 3. this way they have full control over the timing and the subsequent media frenzy.
