Default Audrey Hepburn still an icon

AUDREY HEPBURN's iconic appearance in 1961 classic BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S has earned her the posthumous title of Most Memorable Wearer Of The Little Black Dress.

The late star's Givency shift beat off competitors ELIZABETH HURLEY and late British royal DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES, in a survey conducted on behalf of event organisers Little Black Dress.

A spokeswoman says, "Women love wearing them, men love women in them and there just is nothing quite as glamorous as an LBD (little black dress) for that special occasion."

I didn't realize there was an award for that.

She's still popular over here, even among some of my students,
some of whom were eight when she died.

Awww, I love her. I don't see anything annoying about her, and how can anyone not love Breakfast at Tiffany's?

Above all, she was one classy lady. I loved her rendition of "Moon River" too, brings a tear to my eye for it's melancholic melody.

i love her! i think she's a much better style icon than grace kelly or marilyn. gorgeous.
i saw her in person a couple of times when i was about 12 or 13. she used to live in geneva and i saw her once at the UN and another time just in the city and even as an older woman she was breathtaking, so beautiful and effortlessly elegant.

Interesting. Were you close enough to guess her height? Because she had to quit her classical ballet training because she was deemed "too tall".....

I agree. She is put up on such a pedestal by so many people, like she wasn't even human.

Yeah, I don't like classy, graceful ladies, either. Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson rule!
