THE tempestuous love affair between Kate Moss and Pete Doherty is back on - and really hotting up.

We hear the cocaine scandal model is whisking potty Pete away to the South of France in the next couple of weeks as a birthday surprise. The Babyshambles frontman turned 27 last Sunday and, instead of showering him with gifts, Kate, 32, has decided on a romantic getaway.

"Kate thinks Pete needs to be rescued," our spy tells us. "They have been secretly in touch for a couple of months, but the holiday was still a total surprise for him.

"She's really worried that he's going off the rails and feels a quiet, romantic break away from prying eyes is exactly what he needs."

Maybe a trip to rehab would be more effective?

Cocaine Kate is in Paris doing a magazine fashion shoot until the weekend, but our spies tell us the French capital is way too public for the pair.

We're told: "She is desperate to keep their relationship a secret because she is trying to clean up her act and it wouldn't look good for her to be seen with junkie Pete.

"Since going to rehab Kate is trying to turn her life around and she's afraid of losing more modelling contracts if she's spotted with him.

"That's why she's chosen a remote area in the South of France where they can just chill out, go for dinner and enjoy each other's company."

That's if the swollen jaw poor Pete was sporting in London this week has gone down a bit... Nevertheless, this news should cheer Pete up after the troubled crack addict had his car window smashed in on Tuesday.

Close pals tell us: "He was over the moon when Kate told him about the trip to France. He's so low at the moment.

"He's not hiding the fact he still loves Kate - he even scrawled 'I love Kate 4eva' on his car window as he left court last week. He knows she loves him too."

For Pete's sake, will they just sort it out, once and for all?

She is and while I sympathized with her the first time around (because anybody can make a mistake), I don't this time. She knows exactly what she's getting and if she loses her child over it, it will be a blessing.

She must not want to stay clean.

Anyone who goes through rehab knows you have to stay the fuck away from users.

I've known quite a few "reformed" addicts that claimed they wanted to "help" active drug users get better, when actually they wanted to help themselves to their drugs.

I can only base my opinions on alcoholics as I have known some of them. I really have not had any drug addict friends(Thank God).

Oh hon, I've been lucky to have both alcoholics and addicts in my life.

My comment definately wasn't opposed to yours, just my opinion on Kate! I don't think the girl is clean or wants to be clean.

I was just clarifying with that. I agree with your statement. she must either consciously or subconsciously want to do them..why else would she be back with him when you know that tons of people have had to have told her that her recovery must come first and all. She must not have hit bottom yet. Maybe it will take having her kid taken away..maybe it will end worse than that.
