Griffith Slams National Enquirer

Actress Melanie Griffith has slammed US supermarket tabloid National Enquirer for publishing photographs of her attending Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings. The Working Girl star has made no secret of her past battle with drink and drugs, but is disgusted by the Enquirer's latest front page story, which quotes the actress as saying, "It's true - I did have a drug relapse. I would go to the ends of the earth to buy cocaine and my drugs." Griffith's publicist Robin Baum tells the New York Daily News, "Every single day that she goes to an AA meeting, there are paparazzi outside. (It is) violating her privacy. They chase her for the remainder of the day. They put her in danger."

Judging by her reputation in the 1980s as a wild child nymphette,
that "battle" with booze and drugs was more like a waltz.

Having said that, a search of her pics on getty shows that she's
fixed her lips back to normal. I may have to find another freak to mock.

I wish her luck. At my AA club in Dallas we had several celebrities in over the years and people are such star fuckers-they yapped about it constantly. I will talk shit about anyone but I won't say who was in my AA meetings. Let me get another beer....

This can only mean that it's splitsville for her and Antonio. When middle aged women start hitting the bottle, it's usually something to do with romantic disappointment.

She is an alcoholic and drug addict-she doesn't need an excuse to hit the bottle. It is what alcoholics do-we drink. She had a pill relapse a few years back and they stayed together.
