Quote:
Katie Holmes has allegedly asked Victoria Beckham to be her birthing partner.
The screen beauty - who is expecting her first baby with fiance Tom Cruise this year - reportedly wants the former Spice Girl to be by her side when she goes into labour.
A source told Britain's Grazia magazine: "Victoria and Katie have struck a real rapport ever since they were introduced by Tom and both of them are thrilled by the friendship. Victoria has become something of a mother hen to Katie, so when she was asked if she would be with her during the birth, she said yes straight away."
Because the pair live in different countries - mum-of-three Victoria lives in Spain, while Katie lives in the US - they are spending time on the phone preparing for the birth.
The source added: "Twice a week they both set aside half an hour to chat about the impending birth and any worried Katie might have. Sometimes they even practise breathing exercises over the phone."

Absurd. Just absurd. If this is true, which I doubt, Holmes really has lost her f-ing mind.

Wait a sec...I thought Posh was into Kaballah? Wasn't she pictured wearing red string? Maybe Scientology and Kaballah are about to merge/morph/whatever.

Umm, first thing that I thought was how can Posh give her advice as a birthing partner? She CHOSE to have 3 cesareans so she's not exactly going to be by her side chanting "Push, Push, Breath, Breathe!" now is she?

^^ Good point!! Having someone who was so terrified of giving birth she booked herself in for cesareans months in advance with me whilst giving birth naturally would kinda make me uneasy! I'd be thinking, hang on, why didn't she do it this way??
Plus I feel sorry for the pillow, it'll probably want to crawl back in if the first thing it sees is a pig in a wig!

I thought the same thing-why wouldn't she have a close family member or her baby daddy in there with her? Even her ever present 'minder' would seem more logical....

Don't hear much about her parents. I think they've been 'silenced'. Doo Doo Doo Doo...Doo Doo Doo Doo (Twilight Zone theme)!

God I hope this is wrong. Think how her family would feel. I, as a mother of two daughters who had me with them during their deliveries, would be devastated if they chose a "friend" they just met to be with them in the delivery room.

My mom said, "um, I think I'll wait outside". Old fashioned! No biggie.

My best friend was my birthing partner. My H was there, but I was sure glad to have a close woman friend around. My friend had better instincts than my H and actually coached him quite a bit.
In fact that day was sixteen years ago. Today is my lovely daughter's birthday!!! Wow, was that ever a day that changed my life forever.
I am glad she has an ally in case the scientologists try to do anything freaky.

So, what if Katie stays silent and Posh screams at the sight of a real, live through-the-birth-canal birth?
