Yanni arrested for domestic violence

Remember Yanni of all the suckky-bad pan flute CDs being endlessly hawked on cable tv late at night? Apparently he's a bit on the violent side according to The Smoking Gun.

Cops: New Age musician battered girlfriend in Florida home

MARCH 7--Yanni, the New Age musician, is facing domestic abuse charges after allegedly tussling with his girlfriend last week in the couple's Florida home. The 51-year-old pianist, whose given name is John Yanni Christopher, allegedly struck the woman after ordering her to move out of his house last Thursday, according to a Manalapan Police Department report. The woman, whose name has been redacted from the report by cops, told investigators that Christopher asked her to move out during dinner and that when the pair returned home, the musician verbally abused her, calling her a "cunt" and "whore." He also allegedly told her that she was "garbage" and, as such, "should be packing her things in garbage bags." The woman said Christopher slapped her in the face as they argued. When cops arrived, they noticed that her upper lip was swollen and split open and that there was a small amount of dried blood on her lower lip. They also noted redness on both her forearms and that she appeared visibly upset and was crying and shaking. While Christopher denied striking the woman, he told officers that he did grab her arms to stop her from kicking him. Christopher spent about 11 hours in the Palm Beach County jail, where the below mug shot was snapped, before being released without bond. He has been ordered not to contact the alleged victim and must check in daily with court officials. (4 pages)

Singer Yanni has been arrested for domestic assault, following an ugly spat with his 33 yr old girlfriend Silvia Barthes. Apparently Yanni asked the young woman to leave his beach house, and she didn't take it kindly. That's when things got out of hand.

Barthes claims that Yanni threw her clothes over the floor, grabbed her, shook her, threw her on the bed, and then jumped on top of her. Perhaps the Aging New Ager overdosed on viagra??

Yanni and his reps refer to these allegations as 'malicious lies'. Further moer Yanni claims that Barthes kicked him, and may have damaged one of his valueable fingers.

I never trusted that man, ever since he hooked into Linda Evans!

Yanni Arrested in Alleged Domestic Dispute

MANALAPAN, Fla. -- The musician Yanni was arrested at his home after an alleged domestic dispute with his girlfriend, authorities said.
Yanni, whose legal name is John Yanni Christopher, was arrested early Friday and faces a domestic battery charge, according to a police report.
The Greek-born singer-pianist denied the allegations.
Yanni asked his girlfriend, Silvia Barthes, to leave his beachfront home in Manalapan on Thursday night, the police report said. Barthes, 33, told police she attempted to pack her clothing but the 51-year-old musician threw it on the ground.
She told officers he then grabbed her arms and shook her, throwing her on the bed, and jumped on top of her, according to the report.
Yanni told police Barthes kicked him, and he believed he injured his finger during the incident, the report said.
No one answered a call to a telephone listing for a John Christopher in Manalapan late Monday. But the musician said in a statement he was innocent.
"These allegations are cruel, false, without merit and baseless," said the statement released by his manager, Danny O'Donovan. "At a more appropriate time and place, I hope and pray I will have an opportunity to address my fans and colleagues all over the world".

Boy he has really lost his looks. Fathertime hasn't been very kind to him.
