Nicole Kidman considering laser eye surgery

NICOLE KIDMAN is seriously considering having laser eye surgery after struggling to read cue cards during the Oscars rehearsals.

The short-sighted actress, who presented the Best Supporting Actor Oscar at last night's (05MAR06) ceremony, donned spectacles to read her lines off the teleprompter during an Academy Awards run through on Saturday (04MAR05).

Frustrated that she still had to squint to read her lines, Kidman asked audience members, "Has anyone had that Lasik surgery? Is it any good? I can't see. I walk around in a haze."

Oscars officials offered to make the prompter's words bigger, so she could read them easier, but she Kidman still struggled.

Before leaving the Kodak Theatre stage, the Aussie mumbled, "I'll be memorising this."

Um, has she heard of contact lenses? She probably wears them. She no doubt has had cosmetic surgery so why not have corrective eye surgery?

Not everyone can wear contact lenses. I wear them and wish I didn't have to, but it's better than wearing glasses. It's not a vanity thing, it's an annoyance. It's so easy to smudge them while adjusting them. It's hard to workout in glasses, because sweat makes them slide down.

Lauren Bacall was having a REALLY hard time reading her lines, though. I guess she didn't try to memorize? But at her age, we'll let it slide
