Default Kylie Minogue plans December comeback

KYLIE MINOGUE has quashed reports she will perform at the Commonwealth Games in her home town of Melbourne, Australia this month (MAR06) - as she is planning a spectacular comeback in December.

Minogue, who is recovering from her battle with breast cancer, can't wait to "give something back" after the unfailing support she has received from her fans.

A source says, "There's a lot of talk about the Commonwealth Games this month, but that's absolute rubbish, even though they are being held in her home city of Melbourne.

"She would have loved to do the opening ceremony, but while her health is definitely restoring itself, it's a little to soon for her to take the stage again.

"The (December) set will be spectacular. Those lucky enough to be there are in for a real treat."

Default Kylie to make comeback in December

KYLIE MINOGUE will make her comeback in December, I can exclusively reveal.

The pop princess will perform in front of 20,000 adoring fans at the Sydney Superdrome.

It will be her first gig since being diagnosed with breast cancer last May, and more are expected. So let me take this opportunity to say: "Kylie, it's great you're on the mend. We've missed you...not to mention your peachy behind!"

My source close to the megastar revealed: "There's been a lot of talk about a comeback at the Commonwealth Games this month. But that's absolute rubbish, even though they are being held in her home city of Melbourne.

"She would have loved to do the opening ceremony, but while her health is definitely restoring itself, it's a little too soon for her to take the stage again."

Looking ahead to December, the source went on: "The set will be spectacular. Those lucky enough to be there are in for a real treat.

"Kylie's very keen to give something back after the incredible support everyone's given her."

Kylie had to cancel 20 Australian dates of her 57-date Showgirl world tour when she was struck down with the disease.

But now the illness is in remission, plans to get back on the road are well advanced.

The source added: "December is the ideal time for this concert. It's the middle of summer there and the atmosphere will be electric."

Meanwhile, it seems certain that Kylie and actor boyfriend OLIVIER MARTINEZ will marry soon.

His mum Rosemarie, who lives in Paris, said: "My son has promised me we will be flown over for the big day. Kylie's making such a brave effort at recovery, we're just rejoicing they can make the plans they've wanted to for so long."

While I'm sorry she's had to go through all this, I'm not a huge fan and don't quite get the hoopla over her.

***edit: Maryjane, you did it again! Damn you!
