The screen beauty, who has been nominated for an Oscar for her performance in the Johnny biopic 'Walk The Line', insists the secret to a happy marriage is to deal with life's little obstacles as a team.

Reese explained to Britain's Grazia magazine: "Love is a beautiful thing but you've got to nurture it through the 50 things that come during the day, like driving the kids to school, who's picking up the in-laws from the airport and working when one of your kids is running a high fever. Those are the normal things that stress every couple."

But good for them for trying to work it out. There are kids involved, and whether he's gay or not isn't the point. They are acting unselfishly.

It is a point if he is gay. I've heard rumors about him and I'm wondering if there is any truth to them and if she knew going into it. If she did know, what is there to work on? They would already have had some sort of arrangement in place.

As a gay person who was in a straight relationship to have children, I can say it isn't hard at all to put up an 'appearance' when you are both actually living separate lives. And because you have separate lives and are doing your own thing, getting along isn't that difficult.

The way she's coming across in this article is that they are in love [in a man/woman way]. I'm just curious. Hence the first post.

I go back and forth on him being gay...I thought at one point he was most definitely, yet then I saw pics of him at the past Golden Globes drunk off his ass and groping on Reese like a horny toad

*shrug*

Who knows if he is gay or whatever, doesn't matter. He and Reese appear to be damned good parents. I like them.

I really like Reese. She's so unpretentious which, I'm sure, is why she has one of the very few successful young marriages in Hollywood. An amazing feat!

She's right - there is no shame in admitting that marriage is hard work and needs to be nurtured. I admire her and Ryan for not throwing in the towel within a year of marriage like most of these celebs do. Some could learn a lot from them.
