Naomi Campbell to sue botox doctor

SUPERMODEL Naomi Campbell is suing a cosmetic surgeon dubbed ‘The King of Botox’ for more than £50,000, it was revealed yesterday.

Angry Naomi, 35, has instructed lawyers to start High Court proceedings against Dr Jean-Louis Sebagh, whose list of star clients include Madonna, Elle Macpherson and Meg Ryan.

Last night pals and aides of Naomi — known for her fiery temper — refused to confirm or deny whether she has had any of his beauty treatments.

But they revealed her legal action is over two reports in celebrity magazine Hello! in which Naomi appears to endorse Dr Sebagh.

The articles carried large pictures of the Streatham-born beauty and stated categorically that she was one of his clients.

On Monday, Naomi’s top London lawyers Schillings went to the High Court to launch proceedings, which are being heard by judge Master Ungley.

Last night, Gideon Benaim of Schillings told The Sun: “Our client Miss Naomi Campbell does not endorse Dr Sebagh’s products.”

Dr Sebagh is a pioneer of Botox injections, which are used to smooth out wrinkles. He has also launched a range of skincare products with actress Cindy Crawford, called Meaningful Beauty.

Naomi has reportedly denied having any kind of plastic surgery.

She is quoted as saying: “I don’t need it because ‘black don’t crack’. My grandmother has fantastic genes and only about one wrinkle.”

The beauty’s lawyers issued an application for a “pre-action disclosure” in the Queen’s Bench division of the Royal Courts of Justice in London.

This is usually an application to force defendants to produce evidence, or documents, or records of some kind before an actual claim form is issued.

Her application is said to be seeking a minimum of £50,000.

Master Ungley will decide how the case should go ahead and whether it should be fast-tracked, or even halted as a legal action.

Frenchman Dr Sebagh is known for keeping some of the world’s most famous faces looking good. He practices for three days a week for an exclusive, but discreet, clinic in London’s Wimpole Street.

The rest of the time he is based at his home in Paris.

In the early 1990s, he pioneered the use of Botox, collagen, vitamin and antioxidant injectables and he is renowned for his eyelift techniques.

Botox jabs — likened to having a dozen quick bee-stings — are popular for ironing out frown lines and crow’s feet wrinkles.

Minute amounts of a nerve poison are injected into the the upper face, stopping muscles contracting, so they cannot form lines.

Dr Sebagh also practises natural and rejuvinating skin treatments.

A source close to Naomi said: “The articles in Hello! give the impression that she endorses his products which she does not. That is why she has launched a pre-action disclosure.”

A spokeswoman for Dr Sebagh said: “We have no comment to make.”
