Default Alec Baldwin educates parents on custody cases

Quote:
Actor ALEC BALDWIN is writing a book about child custody cases after enduring a heartbreaking custody battle for his daughter, IRELAND.
The COOLER star has been battling ex-wife KIM BASINGER for joint custody during a long, drawn-out court case.
He explains, "The book is not necessarily a memoir about my own situation, because no matter what you do, no matter how difficult this process is, you've got to keep in mind the other party is still the co-parent of your child, so you've got to be careful there. The book is a survey of family law in this country from a legal and political stand point."

The actor hopes to help other parents in similar situations and even bring about change to the antiquated laws, which he feels are set up to favour mothers in custody cases.
If the book is successful, Baldwin hopes to hold "divorce seminars" to educate parents about the custody process.

Although he's experienced a bitter divorce, the star hasn't ruled out getting married again, saying, "Never say never. You never know."

I have never been a big fan of his but I say "hooray" for him. He's been through hell with his ex over visitation.

I'm not defending Kim, but we don't know anything about what really goes on except for what is "leaked" to the media. Maybe Kim has a reason to be giving him hell on the custody and visitation arrangements. Sometimes allowing a parent to see their child is not a good thing for the child. Especially if that parent has some real anger issues. If Ireland has issues with her father, then maybe Kim is made out to be the bad guy in all this.

My ex has some real issues with anger. My kids have seen him knock holes in walls, scream, curse, and throw things over something as miniscule as not wiping toothpaste out of the sink or not walking fast enough. When they were 3 & 6 respectively they would cry and scream whenever they had to spend time with him. He was not physically abusive to them, but what they have seen from him is still enough to give them nightmares. He loves them, but they are still scarred by it all.

I think that part of this ongoing custody fight is Alec's way of controlling the situation and quite possibly to lash out at Kim. She may be reacting negatively to him and his requests because she knows this. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he has used her agoraphobia and other fears against her, however who is to say that his behavior hasn't precipitated her emotional distress. It may also make her more protective of their child.

^^^^^^ I can't agree more. One thing we know for sure is that Alec has huge anger issues and Kim is incredibly shy...put those two quirks together............disaster in the making.
