Poor Jessica. She seems to be fighting a no-win battle these days. While her divorce from soon-to-be-ex Nick Lachey is underway, her 'rebound romance' with Adam Levine has already ended after mere weeks of dating, and according to the upcoming issue of In Touch Weekly, even though a friend of Jessica’s says the decision was mutual, it hasn’t been easy on the 'Dukes of Hazzard' star.
A friend has revealed to the magazine, “She’s heartbroken. She worries she’ll never be able to make a relationship work.”
In Touch Weekly is reporting that perhaps Adam Levine of Maroon 5 didn't want to get serious with Jessica Simpson after all and says that while attending a post-Grammy party at the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel, Adam passed his digits on to singer Kelly Clarkson, even though he and Jessica had only just begun what she had hoped was a serious relationship.
The magazine cites that perhaps there were bigger problems effecting the couple's short-lived romance. According to the magazine, they reveal that Adam’s friends say he isn’t at all ready to settle on just one exclusive relationship, and he proved it when sources say he didn't contact Jessica on Valentine’s Day.
A pal says, “I’m sure Jessica was hoping Adam would do something special, but he didn’t want to because he wants to keep it casual.”
During filming of her new film, 'Employee of the Month', Jessica spoke with cast mates at The Old House Restaurant & Tavern on February 15 and the conversation turned to family and friends. When someone proposed a toast, the magazine reports that "Jessica’s smile faded – and her true emotions took over."
A witness reports, “Jessica completely broke down. One minute everyone was happy, then Jessica suddenly burst into tears. She told them how sad it had been to be alone on Valentine’s Day,” the insider says. “She said she felt lost.”
In the beginning, things looked rather promising for the smitten pair.
According to In Touch, Adam and Jessica were rumored to have flirted when she was still married to Nick and although Jess has consistently denied the rumors, an insider shares with the magazine that the pair stole their first real kiss on February 6 at the Avalon Grammy party and were seen on numerous occasions laughing together. A close friend says that while Adam thinks Jessica is "smokin’ hot,” he was also “scared” she wanted a commitment from him.
Says a friend, “If Jessica thought they could be a couple, she was totally crazy.”
Now, Jessica’s left hoping that the next guy she meets will be playing for keeps.
